He became passionate about the saxophone at the age of fifteen and began studying with Jean-Louis Delage at the conservatory in L'Haÿ-les-Roses, continuing with Pierre-Marie Bonafos at the conservatory in Gennevilliers, where he graduated with top marks in saxophone and chamber music. He perfected his skills with Vincent David, graduating with honors from the prestigious Regional Conservatory of Music in Versailles.
He has won numerous first prizes both as a soloist, such as 1st Prize at the UFAM competition (2003) and 1st Prize at the European Music Competition in Picardy (2007), and in chamber ensembles, with the Thaïs Saxophone Quartet (2006), winning 1st Prize at the UFAM competition in the Chamber Music category, and with the Laloy Quartet, winning 1st Prize at the Nantes Chamber Music Competition (2010) and the FNAPEC Prize at the FNAPEC Ensemble Music Competition (2014).
He has taught saxophone at various music schools since 2002 (Bois d'Arcy, Villepreux, Châtillon, Montrouge, Conservatoire International de Musique de Paris) before joining the Paris Fire Brigade Military Band, where he played the baritone saxophone from 2006 to 2009. He has performed with the Paris Fire Brigade Band in prestigious venues such as Les Invalides and the Palais des Congrès in Paris.
In the meantime, he obtained his State Diploma as a Music Teacher, specializing in saxophone, which allowed him to apply for positions at conservatories. He was then appointed Assistant at the Reims Regional Conservatory in 2013 for two years.
He is a member and founder of the Laloy Quartet, with whom he explored the theatrical and musical aspects of his art in their first show, Il Ristorante (more than 80 performances in France between 2013 and 2016). He was invited by Maestro Claude Delangle to give a master class at the prestigious International Saxophone Workshop in Gap in 2015. Two other theater-musical shows followed, with “Debussy, musicien français / Monsieur Croche, antidilettante” (2016) and “Saxopholmes” (2018).
With the Laloy Quartet, he created the Festival et Stage Saxophonie (Saint-Junien) and was a teacher and concert performer. The summer saxophone campus had an average of 30 students enrolled and more than 10 concerts per week.
From 2014 to 2017, he was first chair (alto saxophone) of the Paris Metro Orchestra (RATP), conducted by Martin LEBEL.
Since 2009, he has been a member of the Ensemble Octopus, with which he commissioned an original piece from Karol BEFFA (winner of the Victoires de la Musique Classique) created in 2015 at the World Congress in Strasbourg and recorded on the CD “Octopus” in 2016. With the Ensemble, he has performed in Scotland at the 2012 World Congress, and in numerous French conservatories (Saint-Malo, Vannes, Montpellier, Calais, Béziers...) as well as in prestigious venues (Cité de la Musique in Romans-sur-Isère, Festival “Un été à Bourges” ...).
In 2022, he obtained a Level II Academic Diploma in jazz saxophone at the Verdi Conservatory in Milan.
He is a permanent member of the Monique Chao Jazzo Orchestra Big Band, with which he recorded the CD “Time Chamber” in 2023, which received a 4.5/5 review from the prestigious magazine “Downbeat.”
He is the leader of the jazz quintet Inside Out and the jazz trio DRL Trio.
He worked with D'Addario for three years as a consultant, covering the French, Belgian, German, Italian, and Spanish markets before being hired as a sales and artistic representative by Selmer in 2017 for Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Turkey.
